Huntsville Police: Shooting at Larry’s Pistol and Pawn is a suicide

HUNTSVILLE, Al (4-2-16) Huntsville Police investigated a shooting incident at Larry’s Pistol and Pawn on North Memorial Parkway.

Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, emergency crews responded to the gun range inside of Larry’s for a shooting victim.

Police say that an adult male was rushed to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries from a single gun-shot wound.

Huntsville Police tell us this was a suicide.

The gun store is closed at this time. The business is also regularly closed on Sundays.

Police investigating shooting death

Ennis, Tx (4-3-16) Police are investigating a shooting death in the Ennis Housing Authority neighborhood near the 200 block of Arnold Street Thursday. As of Friday morning, Ennis police were handling the investigation as an accidental discharge of a handgun.  

According to Ennis PD spokesman Lt. Mike Hopson, Justice of the Peace Bill Woody identified the victim as Doyle Cook, born in 1941, and pronounced him dead at the scene.  Investigators said the handgun was found at the scene. As of late Thursday, the gun was undergoing forensic testing.

South Carolina man shoots himself while handling gun

MACON, GA (4-2-16)   A South Carolina man is in critical condition after accidental shooting himself in the head.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said it happened at the Shadowood West Apartments on West Highland Drive in Macon just after 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators said 22-year-old Wesley Alectus Jr. was handling a gun in the apartment when it discharged, sending a bullet into his head.

Alectus was taken to the Navicent Health Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Investigators said Alectus was visiting one of the two people who lives at the apartment.

Person shoots himself in leg in South Chicago

Chicago, Il (4-2-16) A person shot himself in the leg Saturday night in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

A male, whose age was not immediately known, accidentally shot himself in the 9000 block of South Burley Avenue at 8:55 p.m., police said.

He shot himself in the leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition stabilized, police said.

Man shoots self in arm during fall down stairs

Cape Girardeau, Mo (4-3-16) A Cape Girardeau man accidentally shot himself in the arm when he fell down stairs into his basement Friday in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

Police reported the man was conscious before he was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital, according to public information officer Adam Glueck.

Police responded to the call at 3:08 p.m. Friday. Glueck said the man was at home by himself at the time.
